Birthday Season Part 3

It's only been a day since my last post but I've already gotten a fair bit more card making accomplished. My boyfriend's nephews are turning two this year. I'm kind of a kid-at-heart so I love picking out birthday presents for kids. I chose the Fisher Price Record Players, the kind I had when I was a kid. Anyways, along with the presents come the cards! I wrapped the gifts to coincide with the cards I had made for the challenges over at the Simon Says Stamp blog.

To be honest, I hadn't paid much attention to Pretty Pink Posh's amazing stock of dies and sequins because I am a man in my late twenties and I didn't have much interest in sequins. However, I'm glad I found her products because they're amazing and I'll never judge a company by its name again.  I even bought some sequins!

I purchased the Stitched Film Strip and two kinds of sequins from Ellen Hutson and I've been so impressed. I've already made almost half a dozen cards with the Stitched Film Strip alone. I've been looking for her other die sets but they've been sold out everywhere. People seem to love them as much as I do!

I also got some products from Lawn Fawn, my first stamps and dies from them as well! I love the style of the stamps that they create. They're cartoony enough for my style and I don't think this first stamp set will be my last. I've already got a few more on my wish list. I've used the Beep Boop Birthday Stamp Set and Die set for the cards for this round of birthdays.

This set of cards marks the first instance of Copic markers in my collection. I decided to take the plunge and I purchased the seven markers I used for these cards based on some charts I found on Pinterest. I also used the Background Check stamp from pictureshow for the space behind the robots. The paper I stamped on is Neenah Solar White and I've used Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used Martha Stewart's Embossing powder for the details.

It's STAMPtember over at Simon Says Stamp and this challenge focuses on being bold in your stamping. I chose the stark white background to start with so whatever I stamped on top would be as bold as possible. The other challenge from Simon Says Stamp was the Stamp It Challenge for the STAMPtember celebration. Everything had a stamp! I stamped the cards I stamped the gifts, and I stamped the envelopes. These were very technique-heavy cards, at least for me. I was creating two cards that coordinated with their respective gifts so I wanted to go all out! I hope that you love them as much as I did making them!
